WRIPA Summer School: Data Science for Industry

WRIPA Summer School: Data Science for Industry

Data science skills are fast becoming the main attribute employers look for at interviews, but how do companies leverage data science in their everyday business?

White Rose Industrial Physics Academy (WRIPA) is organising a summer

school that will equip you with better insights into how industry questions can be formulated as a data science problem. During this event, you will attend specialist lectures, talks by industry professionals and business-oriented practical workshops. Those activities are specifically designed to augment your skills in applied data science and show you why data science is now at the core of modern business.

Due to the nature of the WRIPA programme, the summer school is primarily aimed at recent Hull Physics graduates. This summer school is a two-day event running from Wednesday 14th to Thursday 15th September 2022 at the University of Hull. We also offer a two-day crash-course in data science (Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th September 2022) for those who are not familiar with it (typically BSc students), based on our current “Topics in Data Science” 4th year MPhys course.

We have limited funding to cover accommodation if required – please ask the organisers (use “Accommodation request” in email subject at wripa_school@hull.ac.uk).

Coffee, snacks and lunch will be provided as part of the course.
